Half of Firms Have No Website — Adapte Dijital cover image
💡 Kısaca: Nearly half of businesses in Türkiye still have no website of their own.

Nearly half of businesses in Türkiye still have no website of their own. Official data shows it plainly: among enterprises with at least ten employees, website ownership rose from 51.8 percent in 2024 to 56.5 percent in 2025.

The rate is climbing, but slowly. And this figure covers only firms with ten or more staff. Smaller ones sit further back. The real picture runs behind this one. Micro businesses fall outside the count entirely. Their rate is probably lower still. So the gap runs wider than reported.

WHAT

What the Number Says

BU BÖLÜMÜN ÖZETİ

  • The rise is real but slow
  • Scale decides
  • The sector gap is wide

Three findings.

The rise is real but slow

Five points in one year. At this pace, full coverage takes years. So this remains an area where a business can still separate itself. Once everyone has one, the advantage disappears. For now a gap remains open. Moving early still separates a business.

Scale decides

The rate runs high among larger firms and low among small ones. That gap shows up directly in visibility. A business people can find gets found; one that cannot be found simply does not appear. The demand goes elsewhere and nobody notices.

The sector gap is wide

In information and communication the rate reaches 91.6 percent. In other sectors it sits far below. So this is partly a matter of habit. In some fields a site counts as mandatory; in others nobody considers it. That leaves an opening. Where rivals lag, getting ahead costs less.

WHAT

What the Headline Misses

BU BÖLÜMÜN ÖZETİ

  • Having a site is not enough
  • The access side is already built
  • Small firms fall outside the count

Three details.

Having a site is not enough

The figure measures existence only. It does not measure whether the site works or stays current. Sites untouched for years count in this rate too, so the number of functioning sites is lower. A page written three years ago produces nothing.

The access side is already built

The same study shows 93.6 percent of enterprises using fixed-line internet. So the connectivity problem is solved. What is missing is the asset itself. The foundation exists; nothing sits on top of it. What needs building is content and structure, not connectivity.

Small firms fall outside the count

The study covers ten employees and above. In smaller businesses the rate is probably lower. So the real picture sits behind this one.

WHAT

What a Business Should Do

BU BÖLÜMÜN ÖZETİ

  • Thirty minutes to check your position
  • First step: write down what it is for
  • Next step: start small

Three steps.

Thirty minutes to check your position

Is there a site, and what date does its last revision carry? Those two answers settle it. A revision from several years back means the site has stopped counting.

First step: write down what it is for

What problem will the site solve? Collecting enquiries, giving information or selling. A site built without a stated purpose sits idle. Nobody knows what to expect from it. Measuring the result also becomes impossible. Asset selection changes with that answer.

Next step: start small

A single-purpose page delivers faster than a large site. It can be expanded later, and starting small builds speed. The priority order shows what comes first.

Almost everyone has internet access. Half still have no digital asset of their own.
