💡 Kısaca: Choosing a social media agency usually turns into a price debate.

Choosing a social media agency usually turns into a price debate. But the deciding factor isn’t budget — it’s who can explain the work. A party that doesn’t know your product produces empty content, however good the design. 🔎

Short answer: all three work. An agency brings continuity and capacity, a freelancer flexibility and cost, someone in-house product knowledge and speed. The right choice covers whatever your business lacks most.

Below: the three options, the selection criteria, the hybrid model and the red flags. 🎯

WHAT

What does each option give?

BU BÖLÜMÜN ÖZETİ

  • Agency: continuity and a team
  • Freelancer: flexibility and cost
  • Someone in-house: product knowledge

Choosing a social media agency starts with knowing what you’re buying.

Agency: continuity and a team

Designer, copywriter and ads specialist together; work doesn’t stop when someone takes leave. In exchange the cost is higher and learning your product takes time. Agencies are strong where volume and system are needed. 🏢

Choosing a social media agency starts with knowing what you’re buying.

Freelancer: flexibility and cost

A friendlier budget, direct communication, quick decisions. The risk is continuity: one person gets ill, gets busy, moves on. Account access and file handover must be written into the contract — neglect that clause and parting ways gets expensive. 👤

Someone in-house: product knowledge

The person who knows the floor produces the most genuine content; the problem is usually direction and time. Social media squeezed between other duties stops in month two. This model works well when direction comes from outside. 🏪

WHAT

What decides the choice?

Three questions clarify it.

HOW

How does the hybrid model work?

The setup that works best in the field.

Direction outside, raw content inside

Strategy, content lines and measurement from outside; raw footage, floor knowledge and customer questions from inside. That preserves both reality and system. It’s usually what we recommend — scope on the consulting page. 🤝

WHAT

What are the red flags?

Some signals end the conversation.

WHAT

What belongs in the contract?

Four clauses protect you.

The four protective clauses

1) Account ownership and admin access with the business. 2) Raw files of produced images and video get handed over. 3) How many original pieces get produced monthly (production count, not post count). 4) Who handles messages and comments. With those four written, even parting ways stays healthy; reading a quote sits in the quote article. 📜

📝 Field Notes

At one client the agency’s content looked flawless but no messages came. The reason: the content described the product from the outside — saying “quality production” without showing how it’s made. The craftsman started capturing the raw footage himself and the agency edited it. Reality sells more than design. 📸

📖 Quick Glossary

Original content: produced from scratch, not a repost. Raw file: unedited image or video capture. Admin access: full authority over the account. Internal owner: the person keeping the flow moving inside the business.

⚡ Quick Summary

All three work; who can explain the work decides. 🔎 Agency brings continuity, freelancer flexibility, in-house reality. The hybrid model is usually best. Accounts and access stay with the business. Anyone promising followers is out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sık Sorulan Sorular

Who can explain your product?

The critical question. Content written without knowing the product generalises: “quality service”, “customer satisfaction”. What actually sells is the detail — how it’s made, what gets checked. Building content lines sits in the plan article. ✍️

Who will do the shooting?

If on-site footage is needed, a remote party can’t provide it. Either regular shoot days get scheduled or the business captures raw footage and the outside party edits. Unspoken, this blocks the content flow. 📸

Who will handle comments and messages?

The most skipped clause. A message not answered the same day usually becomes a lost customer. This responsibility must be assigned in writing. 💬

Why is an internal owner essential?

However good the outside party, without an owner inside the business the flow stops: shoots slip, approvals don’t come, information doesn’t arrive. The owner needs fifteen minutes a day, not more. 🔑

Which sentences are warnings?

“We guarantee followers”, “let us open the accounts and hold them”, “30 posts a month” (promising quantity, not quality). All three work toward the wrong target. The second is especially dangerous: accounts and access belong to the business. The metric argument sits in the metrics article. 🚩

Is an agency or a freelancer cheaper?

A freelancer usually looks cheaper, but account for the continuity risk and the scope difference: priced separately, shooting, design and ad management can close the gap. Compare on the deliverables list rather than the fee.

Does it make sense to hand this to a junior?

Only as production support; leaving strategy and customer communication to someone inexperienced is risky. Someone who doesn’t know your product or customer tone ends up speaking for the brand. With direction set and rules written, a junior can be a good executor.

What happens to my account if I part ways with an agency?

Nothing, if the account was opened in the business’s name and you hold admin rights. Without that clause serious problems arise. Set up access in your own name before work begins.
