💡 Kısaca: When to buy a website has a clear answer in autumn 2026, and it is written in the calendar.

When to buy a website has a clear answer in autumn 2026, and it is written in the calendar. November discounts in Turkey peak on Friday 27 November 2026, and Ramadan 2027 begins on 8 February. Since 1 August 2026, discount ads must use the lowest price of the previous 10 days as the reference. Google also says on its own help page that recrawling a page can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Put these dates side by side and the healthiest takeover window opens a few weeks before the season. Taking over early gives you 3 advantages: Google sees your changes before the rush, your price history fits the 10-day rule, and the shop is ready when demand arrives.

WHICH

Which dates shape the takeover decision?

Three kinds of dates drive the decision: sales seasons, legal rule dates and the time Google needs to notice changes. The table lists five dates between late 2026 and early 2027 and what each means for a buyer. Sources are the Diyanet religious calendar, the Ministry of Trade and the calendar itself.

Date What happens What it means for a buyer
1 August 2026 10-day rule for discount ads takes effect Prices for the 10 days before a discount must be on record
27 November 2026 (Friday) Black Friday, the peak of November sales Your price history must be in your hands from 17 November
31 December 2026 Last day of New Year shopping Shipping and returns settings should be settled by early December
8 February 2027 (Monday) Ramadan begins Takeover for Ramadan products in December or January
9-11 March 2027 Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr) Holiday shopping speeds up in mid-February

Why November comes first

November is the busiest discount month, and Black Friday is a little over seven weeks away. To catch it, finish the takeover within October.

Three kinds of dates drive the decision: sales seasons, legal rule dates and the time Google needs to notice changes.

The Ramadan and Bayram calendar

Per the Diyanet calendar, Ramadan 2027 starts on 8 February and the Bayram on Tuesday 9 March. For gift, clothing, food and home goods sites, this is the second big window.

ADVANTAGE

Advantage 1: Google sees the new owner’s changes before the season

When you change a page title, a price or contact details after a takeover, Google does not see it at once. According to Google Search Central, crawling can take from a few days to a few weeks, and repeated requests do not shorten it. An early buyer spends this wait outside the season.

ADVANTAGE

Advantage 2: Your price history fits the 10-day rule

An amendment published in the Official Gazette on 1 July 2026 has applied since 1 August 2026. Under it, the “previous price” in a discount ad is the lowest price applied in the 10 days before the discount starts. For perishable goods, the price immediately before the discount applies. A buyer who takes over before the season fills those 10 days with their own prices.

Example scenario: taking over on 20 November

Say you take over a home textiles site on 20 November and plan a 30 percent discount on 27 November. The reference price is the lowest price between 17 and 26 November, and the previous owner set it on three of those days. Their campaign price enters your discount maths.

How to keep records

On takeover day, save a dated price list for every product and ask the previous owner for the last 30 days of price changes. The amendment also covers reviews and social media ads; see the latest on e-commerce regulation.

Advantage 3: The shop is ready when demand knocks

In season, visitors come anyway; the real question is whether you can fulfil the orders. Stock, the courier contract, payment setup and the returns process are rebuilt in your name after a takeover. A buyer who settles these before the season does not open the shutters on the busiest day. They stock the shelves before the crowd arrives.

Shipping and returns settings

Since 1 January 2026, sellers in Turkey must name their proposed returns courier in the pre-contract information, and returns sent with it cost the customer nothing. Update the site’s texts to match your own courier agreement.

Cash and stock

After paying for the takeover, work out how much cash is left for stock. If the till is not turning over, an “out of stock” label in the busiest week sends customers to a competitor.

WHAT

What happens if you take over mid-season?

Taking over mid-season is not forbidden; it is simply a narrower road. Do not break the working version of the site, and leave major changes until after the season. Handle essentials such as payments, contact details and account access. Cutting your coat to fit your cloth here means limiting what you touch.

Run it without touching it

Keep titles, URL structure and product pages the same throughout the season. Changing a page Google already knows moves the crawling wait into the season.

WHAT

What it means for you: a 6-step takeover calendar, counted backwards

Write down the season date and count backwards. For November, the takeover should close in October; for Ramadan, in December or January. The six steps below aim at 27 November 2026; for Ramadan, count back from 8 February 2027.

  1. Fix the season date: 27 November 2026.
  2. Go back 10 days: prices must be under your control from 17 November.
  3. Add a 3-week crawl buffer: major changes should be done by 6 November at the latest.
  4. Close the takeover before that: domain, Search Console and payment accounts should be yours in the last week of October.
  5. Allow 1-2 weeks for inspection: review candidate sites in the first half of October.
  6. Start today: from 7 October 2026 there are 51 days to Black Friday.

A second window if you missed it

If you missed October, do not rush; preparing calmly for Ramadan beats a hurried takeover. When customers are not walking in, the reason is usually preparation, not the calendar.

Sık Sorulan Sorular

How much buffer should you leave?

Our own rule of thumb: finish major changes at least three weeks before the season starts. This gives Google time to see the new version; with less, old details may still show in search results early in the season.

Does a recrawl request speed things up?

The URL Inspection tool in Search Console lets you request crawling for single pages, but Google says this does not guarantee indexing. You also need Search Console ownership first. The order of work is in the first 90 days after buying a site.

Which numbers should you watch?

Note daily visits, orders and returns; they guide your post-season decisions. Which signals show a site is working is covered in how do I know my website works.

How does the takeover work?

On ASSETOR the process has three steps: inspect, choose, take over. During the handover, check one by one that the domain, site files, Search Console and payment accounts are moved to your name. The details are settled in a meeting, depending on the asset you choose.

What is the latest date to take over and still catch November?

If you are aiming at 27 November 2026, close the takeover by the last week of October at the latest. That way you finish major changes by 6 November and leave about three weeks for Google to crawl.

Can I run a discount right after the takeover?

You can, but the discount rate is calculated from the lowest price of the previous 10 days. If some of those days belong to the previous owner, their prices count too. Save a dated price list on takeover day.
